Aloha Pikake Designz began with a mother and daughter who have always loved creating in different ways. But the heart of our story began long before there was a business, a website, or even a name.
It began with family, home, and the people who shaped us.
Our creativity has been influenced by the generations before us and by the memories we carried with us from Hawaiʻi. Some of those memories are big, while others are found in the smallest things—the sound of music playing, fabric being sewn, time spent together, or a familiar scent that can instantly take you home.
One of those memories is pikake.
Pikake holds a special place in our family because it reminds us of our grandmother. We remember her pikake perfume, her sewing, her music, and the creativity that surrounded her. Even something as simple as that familiar fragrance has the ability to bring back memories of someone we love and a time we never want to forget.
When it came time to name our business, we wanted the name to carry that feeling with us.
Aloha reflects the love, care, connection, and intention we hope to put into everything we create. Pikake carries a piece of our grandmother and the memories of home that continue to stay with us.
Together, Aloha Pikake became more than the name of our business. It became a reflection of where we come from, who came before us, and what we hope to carry forward.
Our journey eventually brought our family from Hawaiʻi to Georgia, and with that came a new chapter. We never wanted Aloha Pikake to be about trying to recreate Hawaiʻi somewhere else. Instead, it became our way of carrying the parts of home that shaped us while allowing ourselves to grow where life has planted us now.
Today, Mom's love for sewing and my love for designing come together through Aloha Pikake Designz. From handmade bags and baby pieces to apparel and collections inspired by our experiences, everything we create carries a little part of our story.
And as our business continues to grow, so will that story.
We will continue to create, learn, try new things, and allow our life here in Georgia to become part of what inspires us—without forgetting the roots that brought us here.
Because to us, being rooted doesn't mean staying in one place.
It means knowing where you come from, remembering the people who helped shape you, and carrying those pieces of home with you wherever life takes you.
